GFWC International President Ernie Shriner's Special Project for the 2004-2006 administration is Literacy:  Tutoring from the Heart

Objective:  Educate members and others about adult, family and youth literacy.  Train 7,500 new literacy tutors and tutor 10,000 students during the two year period (2004-2006.)

GFWC of Louisiana President, Cathie Ryan's special project will be the Preserving America's Wetlands  www.americaswetland.com.

America's WETLAND is one of the largest and most productive expanses of coastal wetlands in North America. This valuable landscape extending along Louisiana's coast is disappearing at a rate of 25 square miles per year.

In the largest public awareness initiative in its history, Louisiana is leading America's WETLAND: Campaign to Save Coastal Louisiana. The campaign is raising awareness of the impact of Louisiana's wetland loss and increase support for efforts to conserve and save coastal Louisiana.

Learn more about America's WETLAND history, facts, supporters, sponsors, and find out how your can support America's WETLAND.

Objective:  To inform the members of the state about the abundant loss of coastal wetlands.  This is going on every day at a rapid rate.  To present a resolution concerning the loss of these wetlands to GFWC resolution's committee.
